Best Driving Route from Coimbatore to Cherai

The easiest road trip follows the national highway into Kerala and then turns towards the coast near Angamaly:

  1. Leave Coimbatore on the Palakkad road and cross the border at Walayar.

Alternate route: Drive to Ernakulam, then take the Goshree bridges across the backwaters towards Vypin and continue south-to-north to Cherai. Locals say this takes 45 minutes to an hour from the Ernakulam side, but it can be slower in peak traffic.
